Our Nursery

Our manager, Stephen Wade, boasts 28 years of avocado growing and 21 years of avocado propagating experience. Our team has over 100 combined years of avocado knowledge and experience; this allows us to offer you the best products and advice.

Procedures

  • Seeds are sourced from healthy productive trees, then dipped in a fungicide cocktail before nursery entry.
  • Potting mix is pasteurized to ensure all phytophthora, pythium, rhizoctonia, and fusarium pathogens are destroyed whilst maintaining a population of saprophytes.
  • The nursery environment is maintained to meet high health hygiene standards.
  • Fruiting scions are selected from healthy productive trees.
  • An annual independent (AsureQuality) test is carried out to identify damaging pathogens.
  • Independent tests are carried out on seed and fruiting scion trees, for Avocado Sun Blotch Viroid(ASBV).
  • Trained scouts monitor for pests on a weekly basis, and we implement a documented IPM program.
  • Failsafe tracking procedures are utilised to ensure all trees are true to type.
  • We employ an aggressive “IF IN DOUBT THROW IT OUT” policy.
